Ive had so much experience with different meanings of my Sore Muscles. For starters, let's talk about the basics:

After Hitting the Gym, Certain Muscles might feel Tense or Sore The Next day....Let's talk about the different meanings of these Sore Feelings...
1. Legs: After Hitting Leg Day, I for once can Definitly not go down the stairs (Normally.) I look like an Old Grandma Making her way slowly, down the stairs..
2. Arms: I always get super sore on my Tricepts because of the dumbbells I use, my muscles start too feel tense the next day...
WHAT YOUR MUSCLES ARE TRYING TO TELL YO..
If my muscles start too feel sore then that is a HUGE indication too STOP and take a break!
You might not realize this but your muscles are tired and need a break..the soreness is a trigger in your brain telling you too "take a break" from Working out..
